Description: This firm's mission is to invest capital in high-growth, expansion-stage companies, within specific sectors of the  Information Technology and Medical Technology fields, with the objective of realizing venture level returns for them, their investors, and for the other shareholders and managers of each portfolio company.
 
Brook Venture Partners focuses on the so-called 'funding gap' between Angel investors that typically provide up to $1 million, and larger institutional investors that typically prefer to invest more than $5 million per investment round.

CEDO's Business Loan Program

Description: A program that makes gap financing available to small businesses that are located in Burlington.  Typically, the Business Loan Program's participation is limited to 25% of the total cost of a given project. Loans can be used to purchase fixed assets or for operating capital are available at 8% interest.

North Country Angels

U.S. Small Business Administration TECH-Net

Description: An electronic gateway of technology information and resources for and about small high tech businesses. It is a search engine for researchers, scientists, state, federal and local government officials, a marketing tool for small firms and a potential "link" to investment opportunities for investors and other sources of capital.

Vermont Capital Partners

Description: A mid-stage, $13+ million funding capability makeing investments of $1-3 million into revenue stage Vermont companies, primarily within the Information Technology and Medical Technology fields.  This group is located in Montpelier and managed by Brook Venture Fund, a $100 million, Boston, MA-area fund.

Vermont Community Loan Fund

Description: The Vermont Community Loan Fund's primary objective is to save and create jobs through business development.  It finances a wide variety of businesses, ranging from production agriculture to specialty foods, retail stores and wood products manufacturers.  These loans are aimed at businesses that provide benefits to low-to-moderate-income Vermonters through livable-wage jobs and revitalized communities.

Vermont EPSCoR

Description: The Vermont Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) contributes to building an infrastructure which will improve the research competitiveness of Vermont scientists and engineers as well as bring NSF resources to the service of the broader community.

Worth Mountain Capital Partners
