Vermont's techies take over at annual expo

Vermont's high-tech sector has a chip on its shoulder.
Renowned for its cheese and maple syrup, the Green Mountain State also produces underappreciated but essential technologies, Tom Jaros, vice president of the Vermont Software Developers' Alliance said.
"We wanted to reinforce the idea that technology is happening in Vermont," Jaros said.
Hence, Vermont Tech Jam 3.0, planned by the vtSDA and scheduled Friday and Saturday at Burlington’s Main Street Landing. More than 60 of the state’s high-tech companies, from stalwarts IBM and GE Healthcare, to home-based operations like The Data Farm in Hanksville, have reserved space to exhibit their work at the event.
