Software Development & Technology Job Creation in VT
Gaye Symington - Democratic candidate for Governor
Meeting Details
Gaye will be joining us this month to discuss her views regarding the current state of Vermont job creation.
Gaye believes that Vermont is stuck in neutral on job creation. The jobs that are being created are low wage, and do not cover the cost of rent on even a modest apartment.
She will discuss the software industry and start a dialogue about higher wage job opportunities and creating a stronger partnership between K-12, Higher Education and our Business Community so that workforce training is appropriate for the right kinds of jobs.
Bio
Gaye Symington is the Vermont Democratic candidate for governor. For the last 12 years she's been a strong advocate for working families.
During her time in the Legislature she's fought for childcare, early education, workforce training and tax cuts that benefit the middle class. As Speaker Symington raised the minimum wage, and pushed through a new card check law to ensure that every Vermonter has the right to organize in his or her workplace.
As Governor, Gaye will bring the new ideas we need to get Vermont's economy moving again. Ideas like an ambitious, local energy plan that will put thousands of Vermonters to work, and her Bridge to opportunity, which makes college and workforce training available to thousands more Vermont students. Join Gaye Symington and thousands of working families as we work to shift Vermont into gear!
