Business Support Options from the State Of Vermont
For this month's Lunch & Learn, we will have several representatives from key State of Vermont Agencies such as Department of Labor and Department of Economic Development.
First they will provide an overview of their services avaliable to Vermont Businesses. Then we will open up the floor to you, our vtSDA membership, to gather feedback with regards to how they can support Software companies as you grow your businesses.
Department of Economic Development
The Department of Economic Development, part of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, works to create and retain quality jobs and strengthen the competitiveness of Vermont's businesses and the overall economy.
While the department is responsible for statewide economic development policy and assumes a leadership role, it works with a variety of partners including other state and federal government agencies; institutions of higher learning; municipalities; regional development corporations; and non-governmental organizations to achieve our shared goals.
Department of Labor
The Department of Labor assists employers locate employees for their business, help when businesses find they need to downsize and offer training programs for employees and/or potential employees through the State Workforce Education and Training Fund (WETF) and the Federally Funded Workforce Investment Act (WIA).
