Database Developer/Administrator:

UVM

Description: The University of Vermont, College of Medicine, Vermont Center for Children, Youth, and Families has an opening for a Software Engineer.

The objective of this project is to create a web site to administer and score psychological forms.  The web site will use existing 3rd party web services to administer some forms.  In phase II, the web site will interface with EPIC Prism electronic medical record system at FAHC to store form administration data and to validate patient ID information.

This is a full time, temporary position to be filled from February 1 to September 30, 2010.

In this position, the incumbent will:

1. Identify and implement web site and database hosting services.  The preferred solution is to use available UVM/FAHC resources.

2. Identify and document application project specifications, working with all stakeholders.

3. Work with cross-functional teams and receive technical supervision as a member of the Engineering team.

4. Expand 3rd party web services as needed to include new form types.

5. Perform other duties as assigned.
 
This position will reside at the VCCYF facility at the University Health Center in Burlington, Vermont.  Supervision is from the Research Center for Children, Youth and Families Senior Software Engineer.
 
Candidate requirements

• Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science (work experience may be an acceptable substitute)
• Two years recent experience developing data-driven web applications
• Experience with ASP.net using VB
• Experience consuming web services
• Excellent documentation of time and accomplishments

Highly desirable assets

• vb.Net expertise
• Experience with AJAX objects
• Recent experience administering Windows Server and IIS for web-site administration
• Recent experience designing SQL or similar database architecture
