Committee Mission/Charter:
  • To build and maintain membership
  • Generate income from membership dues
  • Develop and promote membership benefits

Member Management Priorities:

  1. (Fast track) Dues and membership renewals
  2. (Fast track) Membership database (list) maintenance
  3. Acquiring new members
    1. Create a free “registered member” category
  4. Relationship management (e.g. new member welcome, newsletter, etc.)
    1. Goal: each member should be contacted once a year directly by a member of the membership committee.
  5. Classification of membership (i.e. member demographics)

Member Benefits Priorities:

  1. Identify existing benefits of membership
  2. Define benefits that free, non-voting “Registered Members” should be given
  3. Identify additional membership benefits
    1. List of ideas
      1. Key skill finder for members to locate resources
      2. Medical insurance
      3. Discounted or topic-expertise legal advice
      4. Discounted accounting services
      5. Information/assistance on options for acquiring capital
      6. Business plan competition
      7. Interns for members
      8. Peer Business Review
      9. Partnering opportunities and coordination
